I need an estimation on weight/fat loss….?
I’m 14, 5′7, 105 lbs.
Now, before you say "Your crazy for trying to lose weight, you must be really skinny!" I’m not.
I have alot of stomach fat, and love handles.
I wear a size 5 pants, but if I lost my love handles I would be a size 3.
So, here’s what I’m doing: (I started this Sunday, November 29)
FOOD:
No sweets at all during the week days, maybe once I’ll have something sweet on an occasion (piece of cake) but maybe one day a week.
During the week days I eat like this:
Breakfast- Starbucks Nonfat Cappucino
Lunch- Bowl of Diced Watermelon
Dinner- Usually a Sweet Potatoe, (or some kind of vegetable) with either Grilled Chicken or Fish.
Snack- Usually one or two fruits, depending how hungry I am.
I’ve been drinking One a Day Women’s Multivitamin (Berry) Everyday, and at least 4 glasses of water.
EXCERSIZE:
I jog, or run for on average 30 minutes everyday.
I walk about an hour.
Plus, I walk to my classes during school.
& I have Physical Education as a period.
Will this diet work? Give me suggestions, pointers. Please, I need answers. Don’t tell me I’m too skinny. I’m not, even my mom thinks so.
I don’t care what you and your mom think, you are too skinny for your height. At 5′7", you could stand to gain about 10 pounds. What you do need to do is to "tone" your midriff and pelvic areas. The only way you can do that is through exercise that targets those areas. The other physical activities you are doing are fine for you.
As far as your food plan, forget it! For breakfast, you need to EAT, not drink breakfast. You should eat something like a bowl of oatmeal (quick, not instant which is loaded with sugar) with some raisins and a sprinkle of cinnamon and honey (just enough to add a little sweetness), a slice of whole-grain toast with a bit of fruit spread, and a glass of reduced-fat milk. Lunch can be a sandwich of baked or roasted chicken or turkey with lettuce and tomato, fresh fruit (diced watermelon is good), and a glass of reduced-fat milk. For your dinner, what you are having is fine, but you need to add more vegetables. Add some steamed colorful vegetables (green beans, squash, broccoli, etc). A salad of leafy lettuce with pineapple, peaches, or pears with a bit of cottage cheese, or a small garden salad with vinaigrette should be added.
At any age, you need to discuss any weight loss plans with your doctor. He/she will advise you on any "diet" you should attempt.

Ok basics.
It is a lifestyle change for you. If you want something bad enough, then it will happen. It is the choice of food you eat which is critical.
The danger is that if you should stop eating, your body goes into starvation mode and retains everything. So, do not do that. It is the choices you make which will be important.
Coffee while it suppresses hunger, dehydrates you, A bad choice for breakfast.
Watermelon. Are you nuts? Pure sugar. Terrible choice. It has a terrible glycimic index.
Dinner ok
I applaud your exercise.
Get the Glycemic Index book. Cut bread out. especially white bread. The book will tell you what are good vegitabes and fruits and what are bad.
Be balanced. You might have to make a sacrifice as far as sweets go. Something for something.
Just don’t starve yourself. You body will want to maintain your current status. You will have to shock it in a good way in order to change.
