How to get rid of a ”beer belly”?
Well, I say beer belly, but I’m not sure what is causing it.
I rarely drink alcohol, and even rarer do I drink beer but I seem to have a fully formed beer belly?
I am slighty underweight, always have been. Up until recently I had gone many years without exercising and drinking alot of soft drinks like Pepsi and Cola. Could this be the cause?
I do not have a fat stomach, I can breathe in and tense to the point it looks like I have a six-pack, but I know it is not normal for my stomach to be so bloated all the time.
Also, what would be the best way to get rid of it. Exercise? Sit-ups?
Thanks..
jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.
Well, to lose weight effectively, healthfully, and in a way that you can keep it off, you should lose no more than three pounds a week. (Plus you’ll also be losing water weight and getting rid of bloating, so there goes another load of weight – anywhere from four to twenty pounds.)
Cut out entirely (or as very best as you can):
-Junk food
-Carbs other than whole-grain and whole-wheat
-Anything with high fructose corn syrup
-Anything with "sugar" as one of the first two ingredients
-Butter
-Oil other than olive or canola oil
-Cheese
-Full-fat dairy
-Potatoes, other than sweet potatoes
Eat around 1,600 calories a day. This should consist of:
-Four or five servings of lean meat/protein
-One serving of whole-grain/whole-wheat carbs
-One serving of fat-free dairy
-Three servings of fruit
-Five servings of vegetables
-As many non-starchy vegetables as you want (this means no squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, corn, or lima beans.)
Example:
Breakfast – two scrambled eggs with salt and pepper on one piece of light whole-grain bread, one apple, small container of fat-free yogurt
Snack – orange
Lunch – grilled chicken breast with spices, spinach and lettuce salad with vegetables and dressing made from vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper
Snack – half-cup of baby carrots, half-cup of grapes
Dinner – one roasted chicken breast with spices, half-cup of black bean salad or black beans with spices, two cups of steamed vegetables with a teaspoon of olive oil and salt and pepper
Every day, you need to get cardio exercise for at least an hour. Ride a bike, walk, run, do jumping jacks, kick boxing, anything.

sit ups will only hurt your back. We’ve learned alot since gym class back in the 1970’s. Try crunches. If you want to do sit ups then I suggest using a pillow under your back. It will work but you should try a variety of exercises for that area.

Toning up the stomach muscles can be achieved using common, basic exercises, like crunches, sit ups and side bends. Or simple stomach exercises that you can work harder on at every workout. Once the stomach is toned it could be necessary to lose fat around the stomach area so your new, firm stomach muscles can be clearly seen.
The best way to burn away fat from around the stomach is with regular aerobic exercise. Body fat is burned off from all over the body, we cannot just lose it from certain areas, this is why it may take some time. With regular cardio and toning exercise done together the stomach muscles should show through eventually.
The pepsi is a big contributor so drop them straight away, and any other junk food, eat more fruit & veg , drink lots of water a glass before a meal can make you eat less. Get a good nights sleep and good luck!
